The best thing about this novel is that it's extremely suspenseful with barely a hint of the romance typical of previous books in this series. This story does require a bit of suspension of disbelief because there are elements of the tale that don't make sense or leave unanswered questions. there's a hint of the supernatural that must be overlooked, but the characters are well-drawn, making for a very potent psychological thriller.
The use of 2 readers adds to the potency. Ann Marie Lee and Lincoln Hoppe each perform their parts well. This is my favorite book of the series.
