Four people board an elevator in a Manhattan office tower, each pressing a button for their floor, but the elevator proceeds, non-stop, to the top--then plummets to the bottom of the shaft. When it happens again the following two days in other skyscrapers, chaos erupts.
I don't know how accurate the description of elevator technology is in this story, but it's believable enough to make this a very intense thriller. The characters are well drawn and Johnathan McClain does an excellent job of bringing them to life. I really like this story.
