This is one of the better books in this series. It's a complete story with no cliffhanger and no element of the supernatural. It's a little over the top in its contrivances, but it's well-paced and quite suspenseful.

Rene Auberjonois, the ideal voice of Pendergast, delivers his expected outstanding performance.
