Mark Twain wrote: I thought tamarinds were made to eat, but that was probably not the idea. I ate several, and it seemed to me that they were rather sour that year. They pursed up my lips, till they resembled the stem-end of a tomato, and I had to take my sustenance through a quill for twenty-four hours.

When his brother is left comatose after a brutal assault, and the New York police are unwilling to help, Jack Devlin takes the law into his own hands and goes after the criminals.
This is a gripping, sexy, action-packed thriller with an interesting and varied cast of characters. And Alan Philip Ormond's outstanding performance voices these characters perfectly. His narration truly enhances the story.
Some of the action seems a bit contrived, but that's to be expected with this kind of story. It's all believable enough and it has a quite satisfactory ending.
