#3 in Paul Madriani

Category:  Legal Thriller

Average Rating:  5.0

Before she died, the wife of attorney Paul Madriani asked that he help her younger sister, Laurel Vega. Laurel is fighting her ex-husband and his new wife for custody of her teenaged children. Then the second Mrs. Vega is killed and Laurel is in real trouble: she was seen at the house, she fled the state, and she destroyed evidence.

This is a great legal thriller. There are lots of plot twists, exciting chase scenes, much courtroom drama and a big surprise at the end. The main characters are well-drawn, although I'd like to have seen some of the other characters developed more fully. I hope to see some of these characters in future novels to learn what happens to them.

Again, I chose to listen to Ray Foushee's excellent performance. He's really on the mark as the voice of Paul Madriani.
